Energy Initiative
Many studies have shown that breakthroughs in advanced materials research will enable a wide range of technology solutions for the nation's energy challenges. Much of this research is at the nanoscale. To enable Pennsylvania to play a major role in new technologies for the energy sector, the Center has initiated a new program – Advanced Materials and Energy Research and Commercialization Initiative.
With the support of the Department of Community and Economic Development, the Center is engaging with Pennsylvania universities, small and large companies to develop new energy product concepts using advanced materials.
For more information on the Center’s view of promising energy applications of advanced materials see our Technology Roadmap.
